Door & check-in
Check in attendees with no internet.
Your volunteers scan on the phones they already carry. The roster is cached on the device and the decision is made on the device, so the door keeps working when the venue wifi fails. Scans reconcile automatically when the network returns.
Not pass/fail
Your volunteers know what to say next.
Every scan resolves to one of seven outcomes. Each outcome shows the volunteer what to do next, in plain words, on the screen. A volunteer on their first shift handles a barred attendee, a duplicate scan and a wrong room correctly.
| Outcome | What it means | What the volunteer does |
|---|---|---|
| Do not admit | A barred person — who may be holding a perfectly valid registration. | Escalate. Do not debate it at the door. |
| Revoked | We know exactly who they are, and something changed — refunded, superseded, expired, suspended. | Send to the desk. This person will argue, and they are entitled to. |
| Wrong session | Registered for the event, not for this room. | Redirect — and the screen says where they are booked. |
| Not registered | No record at all, or a badge that does not verify. | Send to the desk to register. |
| Outside window | Too early, or the session has closed. | Come back at the time on the screen. |
| Already scanned | Admitted in this scope already, with no re-entry entitlement. | Check re-entry, else the desk. |
| Admit | Everything checks out. | Let them in. |
The checks run in a fixed order
Do-not-admit is checked first, above a valid credential, so a barred attendee holding a good ticket is still stopped. Wrong-session is checked before not-registered, so a booked attendee is redirected instead of sent to the desk.
Refusals are recorded too
All seven outcomes are written to the attendance record. That shows you which sessions were oversubscribed, which doors opened late, and which badges were passed around.
Offline
The whole door works with no signal.
The full roster, the do-not-admit list and the admission rules are cached on each device before doors open. Scanning continues at full speed with no signal, and every scan syncs when the network comes back.
Six of seven outcomes work offline
The roster, the do-not-admit list and re-entry entitlements all travel with the device.
The same scan twice is one record
Whatever the outcome, and whenever it syncs. A queue of unsent scans replayed twice must not become two admissions.
The device tells you how fresh it is
Your show lead can see the age of every roster on every door at a glance, so a device that has been out of contact gets noticed in the corridor rather than at the queue.
One credential
Cancel a registration and the badge stops working.
The credential is checked against your live roster at the moment of the scan. Cancel ten minutes before doors open and that badge is refused.
Nothing to reprint, nothing to re-export, nothing to collect back from the attendee.
And the record is shared
Door, sessions and booth scans are one attendance record.
Every scan, wherever it happens, writes to the same table against the same person.
Ask which keynote attendees also visited the hall and get an answer in one query, on the same day.
What that lets you ask →Badging
Print badges on arrival, or in advance for your VIPs.
On-demand printing at the desk for walk-ups, and pre-printed batches for VIPs, press and speakers. The badge also goes to Apple and Google Wallet and updates in place.
Print a preferred name
The badge name is its own field, separate from the legal name on the registration.
In a wallet, too
The credential goes to Apple and Google wallets, and updates in place when something changes.
One tap from a cold app launch
No menu, no tab, no scrolling. The attendee opens the app at the door and the badge is there.
What happens at your door today when the network drops?
If the answer involves a printed list and a highlighter, this is the part worth seeing first.
